BindingDescription
This volume provides a collection of stereograms produced using the latest hardware and software technology. Pictures arise in the mind - 2D becomes 3D with no magic involved. For once, being short-sighted is actually an advantage. A three-dimensional image is achieved by juxtaposing two different pictures - one taken from the perspective of the right eye and one from that of the left. Seen through special glasses, the right eye reads the right picture and the left eye reads the left; the brain fuses the two to produce a single illusionary image in 3-D. The principle behind these interactive pictures is exactly the same. However, the system uses auto-stereograms - hundreds of repeated dots or patterns - instead of a stereoscope. Plotted by computer, these send left and right perspective images which are combined by the brain, tricking it into seeing a three-dimensional object. Once you have mastered the secret, all the stereograms in this book will be immediately apparent.
