Joe Denim's dad is a famous zoologist who travels around the world filming his animal show. But Dr. Joe has a bad habit of stepping straight into danger, so it's always up to Joe to save the day. Joe Denim Jr's homework is to make a film. Joe's dad is the star of the hit TV show Danger Joe's Wild World, so Dr Joe invites his son to come with him as they film an episode on marmots. Joe isn't thrilled by marmots, but he agrees to go in hopes that he'll run into a more exciting animal. But, as usual, there is nothing usual about filming an episode with Danger Joe. Even though Dr Joe is an acclaimed and brilliant zoologist, he is too enthused by animals and often gets into precarious situations.
